Default T/C scope mounts ?

Has anyone used the setup base adapter & base & duo-ring mount? I have the Grey Hawk and need scope mounted. My eyes just not focussing up close at my age. Are they any good? Seems the only way unless drilled & tapped and void the warranty.

I believe the one piece T/C base for the NewEnglander will fit the Grey Hawk. It uses the rear sight screw holes and the hole in front of the breech plug. It is a weaver style base and built so the scope is slightly offset to the left for hammer clearance. (at least mine for the right handed NewEnglander is)
I believe they are still available. If not, or if you can't find one, PM me. (I do own one and don't use it.)

You can get them at Fox Ridge Outfitters. Give them a call, tell them what rifle you have and they will tell you the mount you need and how to install it. I put one on a Renegade and then a 1X scope on top of that. The only thing different I would do is put Warne quick release rings, but at the time did not have a set around the house. So I put some standard Weaver rings on the rifle. It works good but is a PITA to clean as you can not remove the scope for the water baths.

I would recommend the one piece TC duo-ring. You only get about a 1/2 movement to adjust the scope back and forth for your eye relief which isn't enough. just my experience over the years with them.

Ever try the cleaning adapter that replaces the nipple and has arubber hoseyou put in a container of water? I got one (from Log Cabin Shop if I remember right) years ago, and for a scope mounted sidelock it makes the job much easier. No need to dunk the breech in water, just stick the hose in the water (and pump the water slowly or you will blow the hose loose and make a mess )
