The blow back question does not apply to mine there isn't any, it is without dought the easiest cleanig muzzle loader I have ever own [thats some where around 25 not counting the ones I built for other people] I did make one modification on the forarm. as with all guns barrel harmonics enter into what it likes to shoot good groups with, my particular gu shoots best with the 200gr SW and a 100 or 110 gr 777, I have gotten 3/4 inch groups when every thing was just right[especally the wind it shoots anumber of bullets under 2 inches and has grouped the 250 Gold Dot and the 300 gr Gold Dot well enough that the average for them is less than 1.25 inches which I considerreasonable for a 4 power scope and 110 gr 777; I like to experiment and so I try a lot of things to condense it a bit what it did not like was MMP12 impossable to load MMp HPH 24 [my favorite sabot] too tight large groups Crush Rib with the right load with shoot XTP 230,250 & 300gr 250 & 300gr SW 250 & 300gr Gold Dot. It did not shoot 180gr Gold Dot or the 230gr Gold Dot well [around 3.5 inches] it likes 777 and pyrodex [ which is all I have tried in it but it likes 777 best. I plugs up the touch hole in the breach plug if you try to shoot the Win 777 -209 or that dirty old Rem made for muzzle loading and it is really difficult to clean out but the regular win 209 for reloading shot shells works just fine and cleans easy.
Now I can only tell you about what I have tried, I can clean it in under 5 minutes if the water is already boiling; I tried just field cleaning it and can do a good enough job that way but with out the boiling water and a bit of brushing it seems to lose that fine edge of accuracy. Also there was some bullets I had to go clear down to 90 gr to get a round an inch group.
If you have any other question I will try to answer them if I can. Lee

Goodreport lee. What isyour opinion between the encore and truimph?Getting an itch for a newaddition and thinking a TC
. I have shot a number of encores and omegas. I like the encore but really not sure its worth the investment asI will never change the barrel. I don't like the omega. Fine rifle justnot for me.Yet to handle the truimph but I am interested/wanting too.
Any insight???

so your saying that the regular w209 shoot cleaner then the win777 209 primers? i thought that it would be the other way around. i would probably shoot the the 250 shockwaves super glide with the 777mag red box pellets. have you shot that load?

skeeter 7MM,well for one thing the stock on the Triumph has a cheek piece designed at the higth of a good sixe scope and it has the same breach plug design [I don't happen to know if they are switch able] as the prohunter ,I think it is a gun that has some of the advantages of the omega and some of the advantages of the prohunter.
If I had to chose between them [and I did] the price of the prohunter is only worth it if you want to have several barrels and one stock; some people consider this an advantage ,I do not, if you turn your back and its stolen or if you break some thing and have to send it in for repairs then if you only have one gun and its hunting season. This is on of my excueses for having several of each kind.
outdoorsmen, if you believe the advertising it should be, I have not found much differance as far as the residue in the barrel is concerned. What I was refering to is that where there is a extra long touch hole in the breach plug like the Triumph it will plug it so bad in 10 shots that I keep a hand crank drill handy to start the cleaning process.
I wondered just why the System One shot so much cleaner with musket caps than it did with shot gun primers.
The breach plug on the 1209 side of the touch hole is what I was refering to. Lee

srwshooter,I got good groups with all the primers I tried, I use the regular win 209 and no longer have that problem, I have a friend that uses CCi 209 and he no longer has that problem; I believe the longer flash tunnel and touch hole require hotter primers. Neither one of us has "crudring" as such, are you? I believe the groups are a bit better with the hotter primer. I notice no one has had any lock up problems like some of the Encores, I considered a prohunter before I got my Triumph, I am glad I went the way I did. Lee

I briefly had a triumph, great groups at 100yds. love the feel of the gun, but second time to the range after about 10 shots had to use my pen knife to pry cci primer from the breech, It was filthy. Called t/c they send me a new breech plug , But before it arrived i returned the gun to cabelas.upgraded to an encore. the encore not shooting as good as the triumph can't seem to find a load.
