I hunted for a week and a bit during the regular rifle season with my GPR flinter. I had the hammer back once, on a deer that I jumped but it used a pine tree for a screen. Then itpranced by my brother-in-law, whowatched it go by him as he tried to clear the jam on his CF.[:@]He did however tap a nice little 10 point later in the week to redeem himself.

I'm off to Southern Ontario for a controlled hunt Sat (about an eight hour drive from here). The hunt starts Mon so I'm hoping to pop the GPR's cherry then.I'm sure to draw a few looks. LOL

Whats up with everybody? Haven't been on for a while. Been flinging arrows since the middle of september here in Indiana. Muzzleloader doesn't start for 2 weeks and will be taking the optima out tomorrow to see if it needs tweeked.

Hope all is having a good season with their weapon of choice!
Well I bought a Savage 10ML so I have spent most of the spring and summer and fall getting a bullet, load and sabot for this rifle. I tried 8 different bullets and a couple of different powders. This season I am shooting 44g of AA 5744, with a Parker Ballistic Extreme 275g and a MMP12 sabot, Winchester primer. This is my gun and shooting it in:

2nd weekend of ML season coming up for us in MN. I took a doe during rifle season with my omega and a small paddleheaded 5 pointer (I call it genetic cleansing) with the 30-06. Would have used the omega for both but it snowed so much the last weekend that I cleaned up the blackpowder gun and didn't feel like having to clean it on a sunday night after a long drive home. This weekend I'll go back out again with the omega,, 100gr 777, and a 250gr gold dot looking for something to try some new sausage recipes with.
