ORIGINAL: mossygoose

My 11 year old daughter killed her first deer with a muzzleloader on opening day of TN season. In fact first time she has ever shot a muzzleloader. 7 point, big body. I was just as excited as when she killed her first deer last year which was a 7 point also.

Thanks for all the great replys.

Thanks sabotloader for fixing the pic.

cayugad, the shot was approx. 60 yards. The set up was a Savage MLII with Accurate Arms 5744 63 Gr. and Hornady 250 Gr. bullet. I still love to shoot my old CVA muzzleloader with ball and patch and real black powder, but this set up was great for her. Very low recoil and no smoke. Needless to say she will be sarting to go alot more during muzzleloader season.

Does anyone else have a daughter that hunts? Just wondering because in our area not alot of girls hunt and she does not have many friends that hunt most of her friends play sports as she does also but she would like to interact with girls that hunt during the winter.
