How many shots do you carry in the woods?

First day of season -full possibles bag and enough lead, powder, caps, tools and accessoriesto withstand a small siege from any invaders or to survive for months in the wilderness.
End of season -loaded gun and a few speedloaders in my pocket.

"2 pre-measured and one loaded gun. if i need more then that either i don't want to be in the woods that day, don't want to clean that many deer or i don't want to go home and say i missed"
couldn't have said it better myself.
but sometimes I'll stuff a third load in my pocket in case I mightneed to do a "rapid" reload - at the moment of truth that load is opened and thrown on the ground just to get that part over with.

EXTRA SHOTS? WHY? Just kidding. I guess it just depends on what you have available. I usually carry 4 or 5 extra speed loaders in my fanny pack. I remember back in the old days when you had to carry your flask and your patches and balls in your possibles bag. And you were always trying to figure out another way to carry your "loads". Too bad one of us didn't think of 'speed loaders'. Heck I even carried my charges in spent 20 ga shells covered with a piece of newspaper and duct tape.

The loaded ML and 2 reloads in the tubes. Usually a couple extra primers wrapped in papertowel or kleenex (so they don't rattle) in an empty 35mm film case. Carrywhat is neededinthe quick-lok pack.

I only carry three reloads and a load in the smokepole. Almost learned the hard way a long time ago to reload before you walk up on the kill. I figure if I need more than three I better go back to the sighting board and get out of the woods.
