If the Shockwaves that you used loaded easier, then they maybe the ones with the yellow sabot, they are made to go down with ease

Tried theSuper Glide sabots with the 250 grain Shockwave bullet. The Encore did not like them at all, groups went to pot. Ordered the Hornady low Drag sabotswith the 250 grain SST bullet from Cabela's. These sabotshave three petals and are very slick. They are red and deadly accurate in my gun.

Thanks fellows.Makes me feel a bit better knowing that I've not misplaced my mind.Couldn't figure out what in the world had happened.Help like this is exactly why I love this forum. One more question if I might, especially for "gopherfan".Which shock wave are you getting your best groups from. And is anyone shooting the yellow sabot Easy Glide. Thanks again....hunt4me
HUNT4ME - I can't tell you yet. Since the barnes spitfires are working well I'm sighted in for deer season with them and won't get out to the range again before the season. I do have a package of SST's (aka shock waves) with the regular packaged sabot but haven't tried them yet.I haven't tried the easy glides either, I've been preoccupied with finding the best sabot for a 250 or 300 gr gold dot since I can get them in bulk and I like what I've heard and seen (check out chap gleason's recovered bullet image on another post).

When I was having loading issues with them last yearI tried theSST's with the crushed rib sabot and was not impressed with the group. This is something I plan on working out after November with different sabots or trying the enclosed sabots again. I'll shoot them up and maybe they will surprise me. I'lllet you knowhow they work.

Can you order just the low drag sabots from Hornady? I would like to try some but I have quite a few SST's on hand with their black sabots. They load ok but they aren't the easiest.

I have to agree with this. I have shot the shockwave 250 gr out of my Encore and it shot them very well. I bought the same bullets with the Super Glide sabots (yellow)and I could not get them to group. Went back and bought the ones with the regular old black sabots, and brought me right back to where I was. In fact my first shot, clean barrel @ 100 yds was a dead center bullseye.

If you look at the Hornady "low drag" it is a 3 petal MMP sabot. You can order that sabot from MMP but it will be black....

Here is the "low drag"

Can not get a good picture of the 3p for you but it also only has 3 petals.

The SST normally uses an HPH-12sabot

I also shoot the 250gr shockwaves with the yellow SG sabots. The black sabots also work well. Highly accurate! I a shot through the bullseye and a second shot through the first hole at 100yrds. Using 2 50gr. 777 pellets. I couldn't believe it....
