ANOTHER great day of hunting
I got in my stand before daylight this morning for the final day of muzzleloader season. About 7:45 am a doe ran across a real wide shooting lane and the buck wasn't far behind her but I couldn't get him to stop. Within minutes, she was back in the path and her companion made the mistake of turning broadside at 136 yards. The Nosler punched through both shoulders and kept right on trucking. I'd really like to see what one of these bullets look like expanded but I guess I'm going to have to shoot a deer that's standing in front of a railroad car to retrieve one. After dressing him and putting him in our walk in cooler, I rode to 2 of our other stands and saw Tyler's 6 pointer. Could have nailed him too but I'm saving him for Tyler. ( we can harvest 2 deer per day in NC ). It's been a great muzzleloader season and I've learnded so much from a lot of different folks especially Sabotloader. Thanks Mike.

RE: ANOTHER great day of hunting
Tomorrow is opening day of the regular rifle season. My ML is just as accurate as my .308 so I've decided to continue hunting with my CVA. Tyler say's " NOT " and has his .243 in a case ready for in the morning.

RE: ANOTHER great day of hunting
Thanks Wabi. I slipped up to the stand where Tyler missed the buck on Monday and the buck was in the field. It was around noon. I hope he shows up tomorrow. He told Tina at dinnner " That buck's dead, he just don't know it yet". We'll see

You just becommen a "hunten fool"
You are doing the same thing I have done - all those expensive centerfire guns I have are just sittling in the cabinet collecting dust....
I really hope you guys arehaving a great time hunting together....
I can not tell you either - In 40+ years of hunting with Noslers - I have never recovered one either - the only thing I find is the animal laying there and dark red jello in the chest cavity....
