For the range I also use a stanless steel rod. But for hunting all I did was drill a hole in my starter (ball area) so that my rod will fit into to it. I don't have to carry any extra gear and it works great. Makes reloading for a second shot faster and al lot easier on your hand.

I just bought one at cabela's I think it was 10.95. Screws to end of ramrod and lays flat against the barrel works very good

I take 3 rods to the range. The one I hunt with stays in the gun. Some guns shoot differently with and without the rod. I do all my loading with a wooden rod. I don't want metal contact with the crown, ever, if possible and don't feel like messing with an alignment guide. I carry an aluminum rod in the event I have to extract a bullet. I've never broken or felt close to breaking a wooden rod in the process of loading, though I knowsome here have. Guessmy times commin'.

Had the T handle, it broke on the range. Started useing the fiberglass on the range, but bought another T for when I hunt. Been ok now for a couple of years.
