RE: loading / cleaning rod help
I had one of them folding T handles for a while and it worked pretty good. Then it broke one afternoon on the range. On the range, I am currently using a solid stainless steel range rod with a T handle that is pinned to the rod. Nice and sturdy, works good, and seems to handle all my range problems.
Another option is make sure that the ramrod has female ends on both ends. Then get a T handle short starter. You can unscrew the short starter end and it will go right into the ramrod and turn that into a T handle and help with the loading. |
RE: loading / cleaning rod help
I have one like you're talking about. The T-handle short starter is a much better option! I use the short starter, the other one is in my shooting bag as a back-up.

Here's what I use.
They're no longer made though. T/C bought the patent. The only ones you can get now are from T/C for an Encore, Omega, or the really lousy cut your own length. [:@] ![]() |

If you are talking about a rod for the range and for cleaning I would suggest a Tipton with a spin-jag attachment and also put a bore protector on it.... http://www.battenfeldtechnologies.com/tipton-deluxe-carbon-fiber-cleaning-rods.html http://www.spinjag.com/ http://www.trackofthewolf.com/(S(ogfqaseugd2350er2kvhp055))/categories/tableList.aspx?catID=6&subID=49&styleID=15 9 |
RE: loading / cleaning rod help
I have the folding T-handle from Knight for my Disc Elite that I got when the cheap hollow aluminum one broke trying to pull a patch. I love it for the field. At the range, I (ab)use a fiberglass range rod.

I have a TC T handle and it has served me well for 2 years with constant abuse. It bent once but bent back and is fine.

RE: loading / cleaning rod help
The endspress in IIRC. I hadaT/C lightweight roda long time ago. The end pulled out of it and no matter what I used I couldn't keep it in. The ends were aluminum I think. Later on I found these and I fell in love. Since T/C makes the cut to length powerrods I don't have much interest in them. Knight Rods are hollow too and I don't care for them either.

RE: loading / cleaning rod help
The standard Knight rods are hollow and not very strong. The power rods however are solid aluminum. They are a great replacement rod, though not cheap. I did get one on sale at Sportsman's Warehouse for 20% off a while back though.
Here's a link to it on their site: http://www.knightrifles.com/productD...aspx?id=900746 |
