If they're falling off the jag then make them a little longer. They'll bunch up under the head of the jag and come back out.

90's a good place to start. I tend to just try 100 from the start then play with it from there. If you want cheap shooting buy two bags of sabots from MMP, one HPH-12, one HPH-24, and then buy a box of 250 gr XTP's. Try both sabots to find out which your gun likes best and then buymore of them.

If I knew your exactbore diameter I could recomend one over the other. But for 2 bags of sabots and a box of XTP's you'll pay about $40 for 100 shots. That's about as cheap as it gets for a saboted bullet.

EDIT: Oops, forgot to comment on powder. I use FFG Triple Seven in my 50 Cal rifles.

Yeah The swabbing thing did work.I also ordered a 100 of the xtps. Gotta wait for more funds for the sabots. What the green ones are the smaller size and the black are the larger? Im going to get 50 of each and see what my rifle likes.Doing it this way is alot better than paying a dollar a bullet.

The green ones are for 44 caliber bullets. If you bought the bullets I linked you to then you need sabots for 45 caliber bullets. The two below are the ones you need. The top is the HPH-12 and the bottom is HPH-24. Whichever sabot loads and shoots the best is the one you want.

Black 50 Cal. Rifle
50 Cal. Rifle .451 - .452 Bullet
$10.75

Black 50 Cal. Rifle HPH/24
50 Cal. Rifle .451 - .452 Bullet
$10.75

Iffen the patches are falling off the jag then the jags too small or the patch is too thin. Iffen you cant get it back out then odds are the patch was a tad too dry or possibly the patch is too thick. That said I use a necked ring style jag that allows the patch to bunch up in the necked down area when pulling it out and "store bought" .50 cal flannel patches. I also use a spit patch (No goop) thats been fully wetted via sucking on it between shots.

Keep yer powder dry,

D.
