Default Old CVA Hunterbolt, info on it?

I just bought an CVA 54 cal. Hunterbolt In-line. Thats all it says on the barrel besides serial #. Anybody have an idea what year this gun was made. I just bought it from a friend, he didnt know. This is my first muzzleloader. Going deer hunting with it this season. Always went shotgun, been bow hunting for 2 years. Thanks

Thanks alot. Last two numbers are 98. 1998. I have been looking for mounts for a scope for it, but, everytime I find mounts it says for a Hunterbolt Magnum. Which mine does not say Magnum. Any thoughts?

Should be a magnum. Give cva a call or email and ask them, give them your serial # and they will set you in the right direction. The mounts you found more than likely will fit.

I emailed cva. One more question and I'll give it a rest. THis gun that I bought, the barrel, its not rusty, just darkened. Is there anyway I can clean it up a little.

must be nickel? I honestly dont know what i'd use. Ive always used windex with my ss winchester and never had it go dark. Maybe try brasso. that may take the darkness out.

Euratte

Might try some JB's Bore Paste - it should polish up your barrel...
