I am trying hard to catch up. So far have two 97 Whitetail Hunters, and one Thunderbolt with a 98 bolt in case I don't like the T-Bolt. So far they are all .504's. Now if I just had time to shoot even one of them???

well there you go MLkeith, That tells us that you have one to many and need to sell that poor soul one.

Once you shoot them, there is no way you will part with one MLKeith. If I lived in a conical only place, I be sure to have me a White. No matter what I had to pay. I just think there would not be a better rifle for the job. You be sure and post your results when you can finally shoot.

We got down in the 50's last night so it was a nice cool morning for my walk with the hound. I heard it is still hot out there where you're at. Of course, does it ever cool down there? :D

ORIGINAL: cayugad

Redclub and Cascadedad hord the whole rifle... Soon they will have enough of them to open their own White Rifle business.
I have a good stash of spare parts too!:) The only things I don't have is an extra trigger group and hammer for the Lightning. I could easily get a machinist to build me a new hammer. Trigger group is going to be very hard to come by. Might have to just buy another complete rifle. :D

I have said it before and I will say it again. When I joined this board looking for info about MLers, the timing could not have been better. Sabotloader and cayugad had fairly recently bought U-Ms from Sportsman's WH. I think primarily because Underclocked had been singing White praise.

Man did I luck out. Sportsman's still a few for sale for $300. One other thing that I will state. It has been said, but I think often overlooked. The Whites shoot sabots!!!! Sabotloader and cayugad have proven it. I have shot a few out of mine and yes, they shoot. From my limited experience, I say they shoot conicals and sabots equally well.

Whut are you, some kind of traditional wanna be or somethin? Your Ultra Mag can be a 400 yard rifle if you put a scope on it and shoot some plastic. :D

Ah guy has to try different things a little you know, variety is the spice of life. And, I do have a scope on my Lightning right now. Wow, does that thing handle nice. Sabotloader got to hold it, but he'll never admit on here how much he liked it. ;)

RE: Inline conical shooters?

You know, something just dawned on me. I don't think sabotloader has EVER shot a conical out of his Ultra Mag. I offered some more than once, even some of the 620 Bullshops.

NOW THAT DEFINITELY AIN'T RIGHT!!!!!!

RE: Inline conical shooters?

Sabotloader is just scared that once he tries them he will never go back to plastic. I shot sabots out of the White, but I really like shooting the big chunks of lead down range... And that White does it so well.

You guys Knock-it-off -> Cdad yur litenen was cool & yes I wood lik it bu ah ain't traden da u-mag

No ur rite - no lead has touched da lands & grooves of da white yet

Hey but you guys gotta remember I am the guy that said he would never shoot howitzers from my gun. And when I tried all the common store bought stuff Great Plains, Maxi - pads both types - even some buffalo bullets - non and I mean non of them would shoot worth a darn and i hated the use of the short starter.... Now Cdad ifn u'ed never sho'ed me dem dar Bullshops - I still wouldn't be shooting conicals... they are like lobbing grenades to me, BUT I got some from you and shot them from my sidehammers... OK I was impressed... so yes from a sidehammer no from my inlines... and besides I just bought 500 of dem dare Naval gun dhunks of lead.... so I am converting - a littel...

I am shooting Sunday or Monday and i am shooting the White - but it is going to be 200 grain XTP's and 250 grain Gold Dots... so thar....

Cdad I hope you haveto work both days... and Dave I hope its to hot fer you to shoot... don't fool with a guy that is next to mother nature...

P.S. - now niether one of you will get my U-Mag or my collection of spare parts - so don't even ask....

cdad - I have a backup W Lightening that was severely negleted - got it shining again pretty much, but still a lot of pitting in the barrel.
Finally got a chance to shoot it last weekend - shoots 460 NE's every bit as good as my main one in perfect condition!
Was going to list it with full description, but your thoughts on parts talked me out of it.
Your right - trigger with left side saftey is the tough one.

Steve
