Got Renegade Back
#1
I got my Renegade back from TC and I am not happy. They replaced the stock with a new one that has a rubber but pad instead of the metal. They checked the barrel for me to but I looked at it and it is rusted!!! I am having trouble getting my 58cal barrel to go in there smoothly to.I do not know what to think.

That sucks butt. Sorry to hear that. I never knew they made renegades with rubber recoil pads. Would have been nice to have had on mine when i had it lol. I'd just give them a call and have them redo it again. Maybe send the .58 to them too and have them fit it properly. Couldnt cost much.

I believe the newer models of Renegade towards the end came with rubber pads. Perhaps that is all they had. What was wrong with your original stock?
What did they say was wrong with the barrel? Did they find out anything?
On some of the newer stocks if you look at the thimble rib on the bottom of the GMB it might have to be trimmed back a little. They almost make it, but some just will not. Check where the thimble rib hits. I had to trim back on of my GMB with a dremel tool.

The barrel was fine. They lapped the bore and test fired it saying it was fine. But when I got it back the barrel was rusted! The stock had a few hair line cracks in it so they replaced it. It looks like I can take the Rubber off and put a metal one on it. We will see what I decide. I got the TC 58cal Renegade barrel with the 1-48" twist. It fits fine I guess but it is a little springy. I have to push down on the barrel a little so it lines up with the wedge pin. I have to do the same with my 54cal barrel but not as much. I think it will be fine. I am going to shoot it today with the 58cal barrel. With the 58cal barrel on it it is a brand new ML. I should be happy but hunting with grandpa's muzzleloader made it special. Now I do not have that anymore.

Folks should be aware that when a firearm is sent back to the Mfr., they often replace things that are not requested. For instance, a cracked stock can be replaced, when all you wanted was the lock fixed.
The Mfr.s are concerned about liability. If a defect caused an injury, but they sent it back to you without correcting it because you didn't ask them to, they could be held liable in some cases. To avoid the issue, they generally fix everything that is suspect.
So, if you want them to fix your lock and not replace your stock, send them your lock only. Be sure to discuss this with customer service ahead of time.

Sounds like they didn't clean the barrel after firing it. they never do with smokeless.
As to the tech support dept., they can be a handful. I would call back and ask for the department supervisor and explain your problem. Be professional and polite. I can't remember his name, but he was a good joe that helped me when I had problems with my Encore.
And yes they will replace anything that is broke or not within company spec, such as replacement parts or third party parts.
