The Thompson Center Cherokee was a much sought after rifle. The .32 caliber would take a .310 ball. I have read of people loading 25 grains of 3f powder. They would make an excellent small game rifle. The one thing I have read about them, and that is why I decided to go with a .40 caliber when I make the small game plunge is, that they fowl out easy and have to be swabbed often. The smaller the bore the more they fowl. If you could get that rifle for a reasonable amount, it would be a good investment.
