What Exactly is a "Seasoning Patch"?

Got some in the cleaning kit I got for Walmart...says "Free Seasoning Patches Included"....look just like the regular dry patches, but yellow. I'm guessing they are just lubed, and you run them through the barrel after cleaning to prevent rust? (yes, I'm new to this <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>)

JD got it right
it is a patch that has like a bore butter type lube on it, the idea is to use it to help season your barrel (lube it and make it smoother), like an old cast iron frying pan that has been used for a long time.
