I've found a couple threads on this scope but wanted to hear from people using it on a ML. I have the following:
- stainless Apex that needs ascope
- $37 in Cabelas points
- $50 Cabelas gift card
- $30 off $100 Cabelas sale coupon
I've read good reviews on the Prostaff and think I want to pick one up, but wanted to double check for any further comments. The scope retails for $169, so after all my discounts I could walk away spending ~$52 not including mounts. I'm looking at the 3-9x40 in silver finish:
Nikon Prostaff

Any comments would be helpful!!! Thanks!

I have a Nikon ProStaff on my Omega and I love it. I am sure there are better scopes out there, but this one is outstanding for the money. It gathers lightwell in the early morning and late evening. If you can get one for ~$52 I wouldn't hesitate a bit....I paid $150 for mine.

I have 4 of them.. That should tell you my opinion of them. You cant go wrong with them. If you guys wanna find some extremely well priced Pro Staffs just check ebay. I have a 2x7, 2 3x9's an a 4x which is possibly the clearest scope I have ever looked thru. The 4x is for an older 50 cal that I have.

My old CVA Staghorn has had a 4X Nikon ProStaff scope on it for several years. Figure that it has about 700-900 rounds through it with that scope on it.The scope isgood in low light and i've zapped a lot of late evening hogs with it.

I put one on my brothers optima pro and it didn't last much more than seventy shots. I worked up several different loads until I found what it liked. Settled on 3 pellets, 250 gr. shockwave. Must have been a lemon???

Well, I bought it! They didn't have any more in stock except the display model so they knocked $5 off it and I was out the door for around $62! I used some of my Cabelas points in the cafeteria, so that iswhy I it was $62 rather than $52, but at least lunch was free!!!
They didn't have the silver Warne QD rings so I need to order those up.
Compared to my Bushnell Banner on my .270, this thing is very bright! I only plan to push 100 gr. of powder, so hopefully it will take the abuse.
Thanks for the feedback!

I have pushed 120 grains of Triple Se7en 2f and a 300 gr sabot against mine all afternoon and it never even wavered. I am sure you're going to like that scope. I sure do mine. And for a price like that, you'd of been crazy to buy anything different... IMO
