Shooting the New (used) E-bay Replacement Barrel
#11
My kit rifle was bought in 1980. I was told it was a Douglas Barrel by Thompson Center. The serial number is a K**** series. It states it is a Thompson Center Barrel in .54 caliber but no where does it mention the word Renegade on it.
I never knew that the old Renegades were a 1-66 twist. I thought they were called something other then a Renegade at that time. These old barrels are great shooters, but they like to lead up so you have to watch them.

4 digits serial # mid- to early 70's most were 1 in 48,few and far 1 in 66
1 in 66 would say first year run most were sharon barrels,on the sharon barrel look for a heart ot t/c call it a spade on the underside near the barrel end by the breech=plug.
IJUST GAVE AWAY a fiber optic rear sight ,seem nothing to trade on hand right now
I heardalso if you are lucky to purchase a t/c without a name (MODEL)on like HAWKENS OR RENEGADE some say there were not made by t/c,all my flinter barrel's have no name stamped in them except for thompson center rochester N.H. and all will drive tacks with patch round balls

That is howthis barrel is stamped... but it does have that "W" or "M" stamped on the underside... I thought that indicated Douglas???
It does shoot really well - i would not hesitate a bit hunting with it....
check your pm..

yep: it a douglas barrel
spade or heart- sharon
thompson center barrels have there model on it,HAWKENS,RENEGADE AND SO ON
You got one good barrel there, you did well on that deal
The other barrel even with deep pitts will replace the $ in what you paid for the one you just bought off of e bay.
I just sold 2 different barrels and did state there were pitted but shot well on different forms in the ball park of $65.00 bucks,I only wanted the stocks
