Tenmile - welcome. I went to the "search the forum" up top, used "Apex" for the search term, searched the "Black powder" forum for posts from the last "6 months" and saw a lot of references. You might try that if you have some time. I know there are several members here who have them and sounds like the bottom line is the gun is a good shooter for a good price.

I own the Apex and I think it is a great gun. The Sportsmans Warehouse here in Midvale Utah sells more of the ss Apex's than any other muzzleloader including the Omega. It has a solid stock and the barrel is fluted which I dont think does anything for the rifle. Accuracy is awsome with Powebelts, XTP's, Gold Dots and Bullshop Conicals. I think for the price its hard to beat the Apex.

I love my SS Apex. It's a shooter, everything I've tried in her. 270 BB, 375 SSB, 250 xtp, 405 PB. Would like to try some Bullshops and 435 SSB's. I am encouraged by bdeathers remarks onthe bullshopsin his. I got mine for $180 in cabelas points! Basically free. But a great rifle indeed.

I had horrible experience with that gun. I won't go into it. I prefer Omega's and I think if you guys tried one you would too.

outdoors u also have limited experience with proper bullets, powder and caps. I got my gun for 2 1/2" groups down to 1" and im still improving with different powders and bullets.

To outdoorslover if you have read some of my older posts you would see that I do own an Omega and I am very happy with it. I will say though that it is more picky than the Apex. It shoots the shockwaves, XTP's and Gold Dots really good, and the power belts so so. On the other hand the Apex will shoot those plus conicals and the power belts very well. The Apex also has a solid stock not a hollow stock like the Omega. I personally like solid stocks. My Apex will shoot with any of my buddies Omega any day of the week. I'm glad to hear you are having good luck with your Omega. Keep practicing you will only get better.
