I'm bored and looking at my Pyrodex pellet loading instructions. The paper said "Each Pyrodex pellet contains a black ignitor on one end" Now, I'm looking at this and the only difference I see in the ends of the pellet is one end has a slight bevel. Is this the "black ignitor"? Is there a certain end of the pellet your suppose to drop into the barrel first? Thanks

As they sit in the box, take the piece of pipe cleaner, lift them out by pushing that through the center of two of them, then as if you were a crane, simply move them over and load down the barrel... There is a Goex base on the bottom of the Pyrodex I was told to help them explode with the flash from the heat source. They work really good.

I have not used pyro pellets for years so I can not tell you much about the new ones, but in the old days there was a definite difference between the two end of the pellet. The bottom, the end that goes down in the barrel first had a definite black pack of BP powder adhered to the grey pyrodex... Maybe they have changed production methods, might want to contact the company...
