PBH

I, actually do know how to start this, but anyway I do push them (bullets) out quite often and I have never deformed a bullet, (speers, hornadys, sierra, and noslers). Could it be the tip you push them put with? I use the TC Super Jag or the Spin Jag on my ram rod. These tips haave the deep universal fit - they really fit right around the bullet just right... with the spin jag they do not even turn in the jag - it turns. I do agree the sabot should not be re-used in a hunting situation, but I do use them for target practice or just toss them.

Unloading the Omega sometimes does present a problem as the threads of the BP chamber can sometimes catch the sabot skirts and create a problem, but the Remingtons, White, and A&H push out really easy.

As another thought I would hope that nobody is distorting their projectile loading it, if they are they probably should be looking at using a different sabot. With advent of the "crush rib" and MMP's different size sabots - loading sabots should not be a chore.

Seriously not trying to cause any problems, but I amazed that there are problems, at least any problems with the reclamation of copper clad bullets...

For your other question about the bore size I would ask if you have any bore size lead conicals? If you do, then I would suggest you use a hammer and bumpone of the conicalson one end to swell the diameter to around .520 or so. Then start the bullet into the barrel from the narrower end of the bullet and push it through the bore. This will give you a slug to measure both the lands and grooves of your bore and if desired, you could send it to the bullet supplier and have them size the bullets based on your bore slug. This also gives you a chance to check the bore for uniformity i.e. loose or tight spots in the bore.

REAL bullets can also be used for this as long as the bullet slightly exceeds thegroove diameter.

Good luck.

I just don't feel right reusing the bullets. I also would never reuse the sabots. It's just me if you want to have at it. Just my own personal choice no science to back it up
