Dangit Cayugad, I've been looking at the 54 cal Lyman Deerstalker in stainless and almost forgot about it and you post this link. That is a sweet rifle that will make it to my home someday, just need to sneak it by the wife. The price is not too bad either.

$236 ? I think I just found my rifle. Thanks for the link Cayugad.
I reckon I'll go with the .54 percussion. Sweet. And the shipping via ups is $7 ? These fellers at dnrspports aren't making a whole lot on this deal. Like you said, I haven't seen a Trade Rifle anywhere for that price.

never own a traditions, but cva has a lifetime warranty also.i see know need for anyone to shoot more than 100 grns of powder in any muzzleloader. just about every brand i've shot is more accurate with 100 grns then 150.

Anybody ever get rave reviews about a new restaurant in town to finally go and end up with the worst meal you'd ever eaten? I love to hear reports on peoples experiences with their guns, good or bad, but to make generalizations based on one experience is ...I won't say it. After deciding on an A&H 420 I've seen a few folksin the past have had issues with them, I've seen many more posts stating the opposite, until I get a chance to play with it I'll be wondering. I'd venture to guess that less expensive guns would have a tendency to be less consistant in the quality department, it would take hundreds of guns to prove anything if you ask me. I think there's been a relatively new huge demand for inlines, also tied in with the 'Well, I don't want to spend much, what if I don't like it?' line of thinking that has put the lower priced equipment on the shelves, all almost overnight... there's bound to be a lemon or two mixed in. It's like that new restaurant that was so good that they couldn't keep up with the rush of customers... and guess who ended up with the lousy dinner?
