same bullet different sabot. I think the Shockwaves are a MMP HPH-24 while the SST's are a MMP HPH-12 the SST's always seemed much harder to load then the Shockwaves.

Well if they load they should load a little tighter which might effect the POI. You will just have to shoot them to see how your rifle does. I know in my Knight they made a difference of almost an inch.

I have shot both the 250 gr shockwave and the 250 gr SST over 100 grains of 777 in my 50 cal Omega and my results were that the SST's consistently hit higher than the shockwaves. No change right/left but about 2 to 3 inches higher at 100 yards. I am by no means an expert as to why but the SST's are harder to load. Perhaps the tighter fitting sabot of the SST allowshigher pressures to be created behind it. Some one else could speak to that better than me.

Todd soundspretty goodto me.

As far the change like mentioned until you shoot it you are only guessing. If you find the SST and HPH12 hard to load and throwing your POI off you can justbuy some HPH24's from MMP and chuck the 12's that the Hornady came with. Or order some Harvester Crushed ribbed sabots. That way you can use either bullets in the future. Unfortunately Hornady doesn't sell the SST bulk so it is a rather expensive way to get the correct sabot. Here finding shockwaves in stock is a bear, as isany of thebulkHP sabotsso I am use to such a process. I keep a stock of both 12's and 24's on hand whileditching the supplied sabot, that wayI know for sure what component I am using.

Don't give the SST's away. For $6.95 you can get a package of 50 crushed Rib sabots made by Harvester and most any sporting goods store. Just take the SST out and load it in that black .452 sabot and you then HAVE Shockwaves.
