There are some people that had complaints about the Bobcat. They have a hollow stock so recoil can be a little stiff. This is cured by taking the plate off the butt of the stock, I vacuum sealed some lead in two bags, added that to the stock and then put rags around the lead. Replaced the end, and this added weight too the bite out of it and made it balance better.
There were some complaints that the hammer did not line up with the nipple. Some bent the hammer others sent them back to BPI and made them bend the hammer.
If all you want is a couple day a year rifle or something a lot of fun to go to the range and shoot roundball down range, this might be a real good way to got. You're not going to be shooting 200 yards with it, but with practice, 100 yards is not out of the question. They are a good shooting little rifle for little money. They also make a good training rifle and loaner rifle. I use mine when I walk way back into the marsh. If I drop that rifle into the mud, well it will hose right off. If I drop my $500.00 Hawkins, I might be a little upset.
I've seen then selling on auction sites for $90.00. If all you have is $50.00 invested in the rifle that is not a big deal if you only shoot the things a few times a year for fun. I've wasted $50.00 on a foolish night out more then once...

Are they on sale in Tupelo, MS? Which Walmart? I will be driving through there in 4 days so if they still have one I will be buying one. For $50it will make a great gun for my son or a friend that might want to go hunting with me that doesn't have a gun.

Colerain barrels are really suppose to be pretty decent... for a specilized purpose..

Colerain barrel company, one of the best muzzle loading barrel makers in the country, is making barrels for both the Lorenz and the 1817 kits in .54 caliber. Greg has also designed a mold to cast the Wilkinson style bullet used by the Austrians in the Lorenz. The Wilkinson slug, originally invented by an English officer, has a solid, slightly convex base and very deep grooves. The grooves are not, as one would think, designed to hold lubricant, for Austrian bullets were paper patched. They are intended to collapse on firing, expanding the slug into the rifling. This should be a very interesting projectile to shoot. For more information on the status of the Lorenz or Model 1817 projects, contact Greg Edington's Bridesburg Armoury at 4244 Green Meadows Drive, Enon, Ohio, 45323. Yes, they were in Tupelo, MS. The one I saw was at the one on N Gloster street but there's another on west main that typically has the same stuff, just in a different part of town.

so after long consideration, some encouragement from my girl, and realizing that even video games cost 50 bucks and they're relatively useless but i still buy them i went back and got the rifle.
the lady told me she had five on hand, which means there's 4 left if anyone is interested.
i don't know about other states but apparently there's no background check or anything on these here in MS, it's just like getting a bb or paintball gun. all you have to do is prove you're 18 with a photo id.
and the rifle comes disassembled in a box about half as long as the rifle itself but about a foot wide if that makes a difference to anybody.
oh, and these were at the N Gloster store in Tupelo, MS. i believe the number is 662-840-8401 if you need to call them.
