Has anyone experienced problems shooting while it is raining using an encore or prohunter? Im heading up to the midwest to hunt next sun. and its callin for scattered showers. what should i do to make sure it still shoots if im sitting out in a drizzle?

get some finger cots (large size) in the pharmacy section of your local wal mart. After you load the rifle, just roll one of them over the muzzle. This will keep all the water out of there and you can shoot right through it. The breech end of the rifle, I do not think you really have much concern.

At the end of the day remove that muzzle cot, and with some oil on a rag, wipe the barrel off real well. Then you have no worry of rusting.

Loose powder outlasts pellet powderduring lengthy periods of rain in bores where the pellets fit loosely. I found real blackpowder and 777 gives me the best ignition in rains.

Keep your action firing pin door closed with primer in place. Also keep your muzzle pointed downward while sitting.

With a finger cot or a ballon over the muzzle and wax on the back end of the barrel I have shot two deer in a down pour with an Omega and Pyrodex or APP,we have a lot of rain here but little cold [see some snow about once every two years].
