I want to buy a new muzzleloader just wondering whats a good one to buy. Dont want to spend alot probably no more then $300.00.

You are going to get a variety of opinions on this topic but for what its worth I have a CVA Wolf and I really like it it is easy to clean and care for as well as a great shooter. I picked it up at wallmart for $130. I'd definitely buy another one.

What and where will you be hunting? Do you want to hunt with sabots or conicals? Traditional or inline? Lots of choices! Narrow it down and you will get some recommendations.

Check your State laws and determine what is and is not legal. Also look at the projectiles that are permitted. If your State is an open field then you have a lot of choices.

Being your budget is $300.00 and I am guessing you're looking for an inline, then the BPI line and NEF Sidekick would be where to look. Also there are some Tradition's rifles out there in that price range.

I would look at the NEF Sidekick and then get yourself a different ramrod.

Unless they have changed the laws 44 or larger and loaded from the muzzle is about all it says. You might look at wal-mart for the after season sales I picked up an Omega last year for$160 .I really dont think it gets much better than that. Lee

Kodiak is a good rifle to start with, especially for the price. Another is the winchester apex with stainless steel barrel. Winchester is better quality and offers the SS barrel. Or even the cva wolf for $139. CVA is pretty much the 1 muzzleloader that is a no fuss rifle when it comes to putting powder and bullet down the bore and getting good groups. Theres a few other cva's out there that might catch your attention. Try www.cabelas.com and look through what they have. And cabelas will bend over backwards for you should something ever go wrong with it. They replaced a pistol i bought 4 times before refunding my money. And should you ever choose to buy a blackpowder 6 shot pistol, stay away from the brass frame revolvers. Total junk.

How about CVA Buckhorn. Its $80.00 cheaper then the Kodiak that I was looking at. I just want to make sure I buy something thats going to shot well and will hold up.
