I have been hunting with my muzzle loader now for several years but have only used round balls (220 grn). So far they work fine but I came into some 520grn Maxi-hunter TC and want to try them.
I have a Hawkin 54 cal .
My questions are, How much propellent do I use and how accurate are they 0 to 100 yards?
With my round balls I use 100grn and Im good out to 100yrds with fine accurracy and energy.
The Maxi-hunters seem heavy in comparison to the balls and I don't want to over load my muzzle loader just to push a heavier projectile. Nor do I want to hammer the life out of my shoulder.
Anybody have any good suggestions on a safe load?
