Default ENCORE BREECHPLUG

Can anyone tell me about the Encore breach plug? I would like to know if on the current Encore, can the breach plug be taken out without taking off the forearm? I had one of the first ones, and the primer extractor had to be taken off first, before the breach plug could be removed. The rifle "IS NOT" the Pro Hunter. Tom.

Buy the EZ Extractor and you will not have to remove the forearm to remove the breech plug. The EZ Extractor has a little screw that you loosen up and the extractor rotates out of the way. I put the EZ Extractor on my Encore before I even shot it since a few guys here reccomended doing so.

The EZ Extractor is the way to go. Flip it to the side and then pull the plug. It is that easy and that quick. Just remember to flip it back after replacing the plug.

Just leave the extractor off. You can easily remove the primer without the extractor.

Yup, what he said. It is not really needed.

While you don't need the extractor I love it and it works great. It helps you seat the primer as well if you just use your hands. I was tempted to get one of the swing away ones but decided against it because I realized the best way to clean the rifle was a full take-down anyways. Besides when you have it all torn down you can ask yourself "What barrel do I want to put back on?"
