Searching For: Breechplug
I am looking for a 11/16ths x 20 thread Breech Plug. I also want the breech plug with a "worm flash channel" - These plugs orinate from TC's attempt to put a breech plug on a Cap Lock Hawkin Barrel that would successfully ignite pellets.
Several years ago I acquired two Green Mountain 50 cal barrel blanks 32" inches long. These barrels were specifically built for TC. I also ordered two breech plugs - One of the breech plugs was the standard 90 degree flash channel the other was a "worm channel." The "worm channel" has proven to givea much more reliable ignition.
If anyone knows where I might find one of these animals point me in the right direction. TC will not sale one.
Thanks for any help

Could a machine shop cut you one out of a chunk of stainless steel to your specifications? Just a thought.

Also try these sources. They both carry a ton of parts:

Thanks, I have checked them several times - no luck seems TC has a lock on this particular plug.
I am even hoping someone was has an old pitted barrel that has one and the would sale that so I could salvage the plug.
Manufacturing one would be cost prohibitive - remember this is for a Cap Lock - sidehammer

RE: Searching For: Breechplug
Sounds like your odds of obtaining just the breech plug are slim.
A new breech plug will run about $30-40 with shipping. IF you can find one.
A used or newbarrel will run anywhere from $50-100+ plus shippingif you can find one
Well sometimes getting exactly what you want is worth the extra expense. It is to me depending on the item.
Were it me and I wanted that setup, I would consider it as a new barrel purchase for about $100 total. Which is not unreasonable if you consider the options.
If time is not a factor, I would alsofish throughyour localmuzzleloading trade shows. There is almost always vendors that have the most odd ball parts on hand. I have found some really odd parts that I was back-burner looking for and never expecting to find. Yet there they were.
Good luck!
