Well after hunting season i decided to refinish my traditions kentucky rifle and i got it the way i like it. I was going to brown the barrel untill i saw a rifle with an "antique" finish so i stripped my barrel down and bleached it and then oiled it own. The stock is a dark walnut brown with 5 coats of tru oil. Stock came out very nicely. And the only thing that went wrong... Lost the darn tang screw! I have an replacement from traditions coming " replaced for free" Once i get that, i can load it up and shoot it again and see if i reinstalled the sights perfectly. I love how the barrel came out. I'll rub a couple coats of tru oil gun wax into the stock next time i pick some up. And of course, i have to buy more of those brass tacks to replace the ones i pulled out.

That's a nice looking rifle.. I am glad that it turned out the way you wanted it to. It's always nice to have a rifle that you're proud to show.. as well as shoot.

Okay so i decided the lock didnt match the gun. I took off all the bluing, bleached it and oiled it and now it will match the barrel color after a couple days of "seasoning" I really like the look of it now. Just gotta get my new wooden ramrod and im all set. May even take it late season elk hunting this year.
