Walmart stinks.

I ordered an NEF Hunstman through them two or three weeks ago. They failed to actually order it, so I wasted weeks waiting for them. Tonight, in disgust, I went there, cancelled my order and bought a Traditions Pursuit LT, with stainless-steel barrel.

I'd really wanted the Huntsman, but they are backordered everywhere so I probably would not get it in time for the muzzleloading season.

I hope that this thing isn't a booby prize... it is made in Spain, like all those fine CVAs. Has anyone used this muzzleloader?

209 primer, stainless barrel, synthetic stock in what looks liek Realtree camo, 1-28" twist, break-open (which I like- easier cleaning).

good luck with your new rifle. I've had the opportunity to shoot one once and it shot fine. I've never owned a Pursuit but I do own a CVA Staghorn Magnum. Load them in the 100 grain range with a 240-300 grain projectile and they seem to do just fine.

I had a Pursuit LT. I got one of the first ones and the trigger was terrible. I understand that they have corrected that in most rifles now. I also had another poster that had problems with the LT not setting off the 209 primers. The firing pin tends to crud up fast so watch that. My blue barrel LT shot OK. Not the tack driver that my Omega is but I got two to three inch groups at 50 yards with powerbelts (295gr) using 80gr.Pyrodex pellets as I was setting it up for my brother in law and he was not a regular muzzleloader guy. I did not spend a lot of time width the gun. I traded it even for a used Huntsman that a local shop had. I do not own any spanish guns now although I know a lot of people that do and have real good luck with them. Good luck with yours. Stay within the manufacturers recommendations for loads and be careful with Tripple Seven as it is a little apt to give high pressure if you do not load it correctly.

I like that rifle you bought. I only own one inline due to me not needing another. But i think you will be happy with it. I dont suggest you use sucha low powder charge like 80 grains. My winchester x-150 and my traditions kentucky rifle like charges in the 100+ grain range. My winchester this year i used 90 grains pyrodex rs with 385 grain great plains bullet. I got 3" groups at 100 yards which was okay, but after hunting with them, i'll be going back to the powerbelts. #1 reason im going back with the powerbelts is that they load a HELL of a lot easier,better accuracy and put game down a lot faster. This is in my gun, other people may prefer the other bullet but hey, its what has worked bestin YOUR gun that matters. Both of my guns are made in spain and you know what? Every damn one of them is superb quailty. I never touched the sights on my kentucky since it came in the mail. Now the winchester i replaced the sights bcuz the originals were to small for my near sightedness. But enjoy your rifle. Start out at 25 yards with 80 grains powder, get it on paper, move out to 50 and up the charge to 100 and get on sight then move out to 100 yards. Im not sure if traditions has the same max charge as BPI but if you are shooting loose powder, the maximum charge will be 100 grains and a max bullet weight of 348. If your charges are in the 120-130 area with loose, they advise to keep the bullet weight at 300 grains or lower. I accidently shot 90 grains pyro rs, 385 grain gp bullet and my aluminum ramrod out of my winchester and had zero problems. haha it even shot a good group with my previous shots! That had to be atleast 2000 grains EASILY! And good choice with going stainless steel! no rust, and if any does come up, its easily wiped off. Just because its not made in america doesnt mean its junk. Ive seen more "american" made stuff that was just JUNK.

I'll be trying it out Wednesday. 777 loose and some 300gr sabots from Walmart. I have bullets and sabots coming in the mail but they won't be here this week because I'm too cheap to pay express shipping

The Pursuit LT has an alloy frame.

The Pursuit Pro has a steel frame.

Posts/threads I've read state there is a difference in accuracy between these twomodels - when using magnum powder charges. Three pellet loads couldremotelyfractionally-warp thealloy frame over time.

Not here to scare you -- just to let you know what I read. This is the internet however-- so any answer from me or anyone else could be construed as incorrect.
