Too HIgh
I just left the rifle range and was sighting in my Black Dimond and I have got to say I found the sweet spot for the gun what a nice group. The only problem is they are 6 in high and I can't get the scope to adjust any lower. I am using shoot through rings which hold the scope high so I don't have to remove the back sight. If I go to regular rings do you think this will lower my POI or do they make some kind of shimm for the back mount. Or what else do you think I can do.

Is it 6" high at 100 yards? If so, Leave it! lol. It should be close to dead on at 200 yards. I had my inline last year sighted in 7" high at 100 and dead on at 200.

IMHO forget about that kind of ring and get the scope as close to the gun as you can. but if you have to have it you will need to shim one end of the scope up ,and if memory servers it will have to be the front ring that will need the shim.if it dont work it goes in the back ring

Shimming can be difficult, and sometimes difficult to maintain. Burris makes a ring that has built in shims, I would recomend the Burris rings. I have seen several MZ's with this problem, your problem is not irregular, Tom.

If you have no experience with shimming, and want to keep the see through mounts, take the rifle to a qualified gun smith. They will have the right shims and tools, and can bore sight it to get you on paper. In the long run the little they charge for their service is well worth the agravation trying to do it yourself costs. I had one scope that refused to come down no matter how hard I tried. I ended up sending the scope back.

Try swithing front and back rings, especally if they are made for that gun sometimes they have to be in the front or back to fit right I have a Rugar like that. Lee

Thanks guys I just took the scope off and mounted it with low scope rings. I didn't have to remove the rear sight but theres like 1/16 of an inch between the scope and the rear sight. it takes up about 1/4 of the way up the glass but I can't see it when I look through the scope. I don't think it will hurt anything do you?

I can see my sights in my scope and mine is that way.. it shoots fine.
