I'm into my 3rd box. I've noted no decrease in accuracy or increase in fouling over Remingtonkleen-bores.

Winchester W209 are a good primer. They are not the coolest one out there, but they sure are a good primer.

They are the only ones I have ever shot out of my Encore and I am up to about 2000 shots with that rifle. I have never seen the need to shoot any other out of it that is what the gun was made to shoot. I don't have the blow back or other problems people talk about.

Give me another 1000 rounds or so and I may have something to bitch about

Whille I haven't used as many as Pittsburghunter, I have used 3 or 4 boxes of the Win regulars, a box of regular Remingtons, a box of Kleanbore Remingtons, and a few CCI's. In my gun it doesn't seem to make a difference. They all seem to shootwith the same accuracy and fouling. That is with my MagBolt. I haven't shotmy son'sOptima enough to see a pattern.

With my Magbolt I don't get any crud ring with 777 no mater what primer I use. I tried 777 in the Optima and it gets a crud ring no mater what primer I use. At the range yesterday Ieven noticed a slight crud ring in the Optima when using 100gr of BlackMag 3, I didn't expect that. I think I'm going to try Pyro P in the Optima next time out.

I too have shot 1000's of 209 primers and 209w remains my primer. I must admit I haven't tried any of the new cooler primers now on the market b/c they haven't been readily available uphere till recently and mainly never needed too.

You may or may not have a 777 crud ring with the encore, so trying some of the cooler primers if that problem arises might not hurt either. I know a few TC shooter who can't stuff a secondary down the bore with T7 which causes them worry for hunting purposes. Personally I don't have that problem in my Knight, Remington or Savage.

i just use the winchester original 209 primers. You have to realise that every company is going to throw out something cute to sucker us in. Like the lil silver 209 primer with the lil black center. woohoo its cool looking! These places have suckered me in before but now im sticking with the original stuff that works great still. Take the new powerbelts for example. Sure they have a new covering and a new base, Okay good, But the Originals work great for me and therefore i see no reason to change. Find what works best for you and stick with it. Ive been shooting off a box of 100 primers for going on 2 years and they still work great. Never had a misfire or delay. And what ever you do, Do not use the Sabor tooth bullets. They just want to you to think they are a powerbelt. I used them lastyear and 1st day of the hunt i fire at a deer and it looks around, runs off. Hmmmm thats weird the gun didnt kick.. Walk back down the trail. AHHHHH fudge! Yeah that cute lil cup they sit in, Doesnt hold the bullet and it fell out while i was walking up the trail. Good thing i had some extra powerbelts on me because i used it.
