Who's Ready!!
Well, 6 weeks, and I will be chasing mulies with my muzzle loader. Have a 16 day season, but only 4 1/2 days to hunt, but it should be a good time. First time chasing these guys with my muzzle loader, can't wait!!
Who else has muzzle loader hunts planned this fall?

RE: Who's Ready!!
Early Oct. cow elk for my son and early Dec. cow elk for me, bothhere in NM. I talked to a guy from my church yesterday and found out he use to guide in the area we will be hunting. I don't know the details but he said he was involved in a hunt that resulted in the number 2 elk in either the state or the world (not sure) that came out of that unit. It sounds like he may be interested in going on the hunt with my son and helping out at little or no cost, I'm not going to discourage that if he's interested. Will post more info and results as things firm up.

My .73 cal is dead on at 75yds...........I made a new rear sight and took the peep off..............560 grain round balls are ready to fly!
and my .32 is spot on at 35yds.
I have hunted Mountain Mulies, saw a couple of dandies.....one was twice as tall as it was wide...............thought is was a small elk at first glance. You must know how they can just 'vanish' into thin air!
Good Luck on your hunts, everyone!
