Default Hog Hunt

Got one abit over 100 pd. Used 130APP and Bonded Shock wave in front shoulder just passed the bone on the neck side out at the short ribsabout the size of a quarter. I then proped him up against a tree and shot side ways through the chest just in the back edge of the shoulder with the 200 gr Shock Wave and 150 APP it tore a 50 cent size hole coming out and went about 3.5 inches into the tree. Since I did not think to take anything to dig it out of a tree with it is still there, but I did measure the depth with a twig. Lee

wow.. that is some amazing results with the bullets. How far were you shooting frim with the 200 grains Shockwave? It sounds like that might actually make a good hog projectile. After what you discovered, I have no doubts about using it on a deer.

Great! - I really think that the 200 will do the job on deer and I think your test proves it. This may sound crazy to most, but I am really think of using that very round (actually an XTP)on a Moose hunt late in the year. I do not know what variety of Moose we have here - but the largest Moose shot in Idaho was shot two years ago by a guy from Lewiston shoot a 100 grain 243. One of my eight grade students, an young lady shot a big bull @ 84 yards with a 100 grain 243 Nosler that I had loaded for her. I think the 200 grain XTP @ 2200 fps second will work just fine at ML ranges.

cayugad, the distance was 27 yds. that bonded bullet is impressive , I say it will do a lot of damage while giving a lot of penatration,I delibertly choose to hit the shoulder and a long angle in hopes of recovering the bullet.
Sabotloader, it did every thing i hoped for but the 250 bonded is impressive. Lee
