Well I have finally made the decision and I said I would let you guys know what I decided to buy. I was considering a cva optima pro, traditions pursuit pro, and a TC encore. This is going to be my first bp gun so I was not sure what kind of money I should spend. I talked to a few dealers around my area and they were recommending CVA. I have decided to go with the encore. I have had estimates from $750.00 to $900.00 on the encore and I finally got a price from a dealer for $679.00. My neighbor has one and he spent $850.00 one year ago. Now I can't wait for it to get here. I will be looking for the best loads in the near future. Thank you to all who gave me some knowledge in my last post on which bp to buy.

At least you have one of the finest muzzleloaders made. There will never be another reason to get another rifle other then the fact these things are like a bad habit. Once you start shooting them you always wonder what another one will do.
Congratulations on a fine rifle. I am sure the 250 grain Shockwaves and 120 grains of loose powder might make a good starting point for a load. It will take anything down you want to shoot. Keep us posted as to your rifle and the results you have...

I have no idea what things cost in your neck of the woods, but it would sound to me like you got an excellent deal... The main thing is, as long as you are satisfied with the deal you made and the rifle you have, there is no reason to look back and re-think your purchase. I think you got a real good deal.
Be sure and post a picture of it if you can. We all like something to drool over.. new guns are one of the best..

WOW!! The price seems kinda steep is that because of taxes in Canada? Or were you giving use the going prices of dollars up there? I can buy a new blue with walnut stock around here in NH for $500-550. Their new top of the line can be had for less than $750. (I think it's called the Hunter)
At any rate you will love your new rifle I love mine easy to shoot and care for. 120g of Triple Se7en and a 250g Shockwave is a good starting point for the rifle. Good luck keep us posted.

I think he is talking Canadian dollars VS United States dollars and there is a difference there. Also from the limited travels I have done in Canada when on fishing trips. many items are a little more expensive then they are down in the States...

Congrats! I recommed you get the download you will find here: http://www.bellmtcs.com/Prod_and_Serv/EncoreCD.htm
That's a great reference and resource for Encore and G2 owners (targets the Encore but mostly applies to the G2 as well). Do not neglect to clean your firing pin assembly fairly often (depending on use) - failure to do so will eventually cause you serious ignition problems as well as corrosion.

Sounds like a good deal. Cheapest Ihave seenwas Encore blue/comp stock for689.00 - have seen as high as 919.00 for the SS/Comp. I heard the new pro hunter will cost around 100 more than the current pricing, place in town said 1019.00 is what they have for retail price for 209x50 -OUCH!!! However none in stock and would hazard a guess it will be some time till we see any out this way.
Yeap canadian dollar conversion, duty, brokerage raises the price here in canada. This does not include Provincial and Federal tax on top of the asking price - in my area that equals additional 14%.
You should enjoy, encore is a great choice.
