Yes, I got an urge and bought another rifle. This time it is one of the rifles I have always wanted so maybe this will end my collection foolishness. It is a White Ultra Magnum M97. It has a 26 Stainless Steel Barrel,..." />

Congrats!! Can't wait to see a pic of the beast I have only seen one White a 91 for sale down at a local gun shop. You hear a lot about them but they don't make it east very often.

Cayugad - better be careful. UC told me how to get a S91 11 from Bob Bowers last august when I was having trouble with a new Omega.
Well 5 deer later there are 3 Whites on the wall and 2 more on the way!

Its amaziing how easy it is to work up a conical load and go to the range and just shoot!

Have fun
Steve
Steve --

What kind of load are you shooting and what conical? I have followed White Rifle threads now for a couple years but never took that final step. UC really enjoys pulling these kind of things on us people when weare at our weakest moments...[]

Actually I am really excited about it and looking forward to throwing large chunks of lead.

With the .451, I hunted with 80gr T7, dry wad, and 460gr NE. Open sites was 4" group - scoped under 2 and I am a long way from a good shot. I plan to work down to 65 gr to see what happens.

The .504's I have not shot much - weather or work. I got both on paper with open sites, holes touching at 25yds with 70 gr T7 - 460 gr NE - no wad. Have to play more this weekend. Have a .410 S91 and a .410 Whitetail in the works.

A lot of the DWB's seem to have great luck with 60 to 80 gr T7 and 400 to 600 gr conicals - with or without wads. Look forward to your reports, cause I am sure you will try others.

Cayugad - I feel your pain. Every year for the past 35 or so I have always gotten a new rifle in the spring time. It sort of makes my life complete. Last year wasthe first spring since Nixon was president that I didn'thave a new gun to play with. Didn't really need anything. Money was a little tight. It was a lousy spring []

Now I don't have anywhere near your muzzleloading collection, but I am planning to order one of the new T/C Encore Pro Hunters as soon as they are available in the dealer catalogs - which is supposed to be in about a month. Will probably be on this board shortly thereafter trying to avoid my life partner's wrath; but sometimes you just gotta get a new gun

What caliber? A real 54cal rifle or a little 50cal "BB" gun? Just joking! I know those 50cals are really great rifles and stuff I just like 54cal.

One of these has got to be fairly close to what Dave is getting. His will be laminate and I don't expect it to be as dark as this one.

[:@] If that UPS truck could find his way out into the woods faster, I would be much happier.

I really do have some high hopes for the ability of the White rifle and I am sure it will not let me down. I have read posts on that make of rifle for many years now and listened to some of the accuracy reports from them.

I really did think about getting an Omega, but I have a Black Diamond XR and it will do all that kind of shooting that an Omega can do. Cleaning is not an issue with me. What I was trying to get in the collection was a large conical thrower. That was one reason I bought the CVA Stalker because it had a 1-32 twist. (The Stalker is presently on its way to the company for a trigger job.) So this rifle will complete my collect and there should be no need for more rifles...
