I am new to muzzleloading and just purchased a Knight Disc Elite. Any suggestions on a reasonably priced scope to go with it?

from everything I have read the Disk Elite is really a good gun...getting a scope for it you are probably going to want to get into the mid range scopes at least.

I have 2 3x9x40 Busnell Elite 3200's on a couple of ML's they are really awesome scopes. The rain guard lens work really well. They have a shorter eye relief 2.5" so if recoil is a probelm for you that might be a consideration. So far i have not had a problem. Triple Se7en, a frequent poster, has recommended Sightrons for several years now. I picked up a TII Sightron the other 3x9x42 and put it on one of my Remingtons - It really does look good.

Below these Cayugad has had great success with a Bushnell 3x9x40? Dawn to Dusk.

That would all depend on what you consider a reasonably priced scope. On the lower end there are the Bushnell Banners which I use and have excellent luck with. With a low to moderate you have the Sightron 1 3-9x40 which is another excellent scope. Some of the moderate price range scopes are the Nikon Pro Staff, even Leupold Rifleman scopes are reasonable for around $189.00 I believe I saw.

So first get a good set of mounts and then decide what kind of money you want to spend and what kind of features you like and I am sure the people here will offer some excellent suggestions. Good luck with your rifle. They are a great shooter. Have you tried some of the 200 grain Shockwaves with around 100-120 grains of powder? I shoot them out of my Disc and they are accurate and easy to load.

This site below offers you the Best Buys in a $119 to $300 purchase (SI and SII). When you add up all the features we normally look for -- then want a full replacement warranty, there are equals in a facet or two -- but not the combined package Sightron offers. Really... there is none better. (my opinion)

I too have had exellent luck with the Bushnell line of products. You can get them at most gunshops for a good price and most gun shops help you out with warrantee problems. I would not buy one from Walmart. They must be some kind of cheaper model they don't even come in a box. Good luck I have 4 working fine right now.

You are looking at some fine scopes. They both are very good. One (Elite) gives you Rainguard option - the other (SII)gives you an extra inch of eye relief. Both have clear glass - both good low-light optics. Don't forget to compare weights - compare bothscopes back& forthsliding room from turrett on-back. I think both have a very good replacement warranty.

I know the Sightron websitegives a nice breakdown in inches for their entire lineup of scopes. I'm not sure if Bushnell's website does also.

The cheaper scopes have come a long way but I really like Nikons. I bought1.5 to 4.5 shotgun scope fifteen years ago for $175 for a rifle that I had and I just moved it to a brand new Encore.I shot it yesterday andit worked great. I see that Cabelas has the same scopefor $239 right now. I think their worth it.Although a long time ago, I had bad experiences in cold weather with the cheaper scopes that has probably soured meforever.
