This is a picture of a 289gr. RemingtonSolid Copper Bullet after hitting a large doe at 35yds. I was using aT/C Encore 209X50 pistol during our late doe only season in Illinois. My load was 100gr. ofPyrodex Pellets.
The recovered bullet weighed 250grs. and retained 86% of it's original weight. The doe ran approx. 70yds. after the shot.
This was my 1st deer using a Black Powder Pistol 5yrs. ago.

Try some of the Thompson Center Maxi Ball with 80 grains of Goex 2f in your Renegade. I have yet to own a .54 caliber Renegade that does not shoot maxiball well. I was getting some excellent accuracy. The maxi ball are all circled in green. I was also testing some 405 grain Powerbelts and some 533 grain Minnie Ball with the rifle as well. The Maxiball did real good.

cayugad can i expect the same performaceas the goex combination you told me about with the same load of 777 or Pyrodex with the t/c maxiballs???

400+ grain home molded from a 54. longrifle flintlock. Recovered from a Maine bear against the far hide.
