Sabotloader, it is the .44mag bullet. The diameter is .429 they load real well.

This must be the one, but Hornady lists it as a .430. I was hoping since it was a 44 cal, it might have a higher BC than it does. But, bullets are fairly cheap and I love an excuse to shoot might just have to check this out. With the two interlocking bands I may even stay together. I have has some problem with Hornady separating the lead from the copper on thick skinned animals.

I just checked Speer and they do make a .429-270 grain Gold Dot bondedwith a BC .193 and a .429-300 grain Soft Point BC .213. Experimenting with bullets does make life interesting - thanks

I have never tried the Hornady 265 in a muzzle loader, but they sure work well in a .444 Marlin. They were designed specifically for this caliber, since most other .429/.430 bullets are made to expand properly at .44 Mag pistol velocities, and don't penetrate as well at the higher .444 speeds.

Hope they shoot well for you. I haven't so far gotten any .429/.430 bullets to shoot as consistently as the .451/.452 bullets. Used to think it was the thicker sabot, but the 200 Shockwaves have really blown that theory. . . .
