Well, I have to tell everyone, just so happened I asked a question on this forum and just so happened that sabotloader was heading to my neck of the woods this weekend. Never met him before.
Long story short, we went up to my shooting spot and my son (14 y.o.) and I got to shoot his White. SWEEEEEEEET!
My son got to load the gun twice after watching the first time. Well, I will try to post the picture of the target. I stepped it off at ~75 yards. All 3 of us took one shot at the same target. By the way, my son and I have never shot a ML before. There was a slight cross breeze.

Kind of hard to see, but two of the holes almost made one hole. Hopefully sabotloader can reply here with the all the specifics of the load and any other details. He had just mounted a different scope and had only bore sited it prior to us shooting.
Thanks again sabotloader, we are hooked!!!!!!

Cascadedad: welcome to the club!
Great story about the meetup. Sabotloader is just one of the many people on this site who are so generous with their knowledge.

Thanks for posting this target, after I left I really wondered what it looked like.
For fill in information, I had just re-mounted this Bushnell Trophy in some Millet Angle Lock Rings on top of the extended bases that Doc White sent me. I bore sighted it for left and right. Terry and I headed to Kennewick for the weekend so I took the gun with me hoping to do some shooting, between ice skating performances by my grand daughter.
I tied in with cascadedad and his son between performances and we ran out in the hills to do some shooting. It really was a lot of fun, wish we, I, could have stayed and done a lot more shooting but had to get back to the ice rink.
I loaded a 250 grain XTP/MMP-HPH12 sabot on top of 100 grains of T7 with a Rem 209-4 and took the first shot I wanted to make sure it was on paper. Then cascadedad's 7th grade son loaded a duplicate load and took his shot. He has been shooting quite a bit with his dad and has shot a 12 guage quite a lot so I was confident he could handle the gun (he was a nose guard on his school football team also) His shot printed just to the right of mine. Then he loaded a round for his dad and when was all said and done he cloverleafed my first shot. cascadedad mention a xwind as being a "slight breeze" - well for those wind blown people that live in the "Tri-Cities" of Washington - it might have been a slight breeze, but for us guys that do not live in the wind it was a really healthy 15-20 MPH crosswind. With three different people shooting the same rifle off the hood of a Suburban with one bag under the forearm - I was really impressed with the group considering all off the factors.... I become more impressed with the White everytime out...
The BEST thing about the whole outing was "the sharing" - it was great...
Raining "cats & dogs" here in north Idaho today so I am stuck doing "honey-do's" - hopefully tomorrow...

That is some great shooting. Especially for people that never touched a muzzleloader before. Muzzleloaders can be a little intimidating to first time shooters, especially young people. Cascadedad and his son must really enjoy a challenge and they found one.
Without a doubt the White Ultra Mag is a sweet rifle to shoot. It will do it all. If you really want to put a world of hurt on something you can put down range a large conical and pound a hole or a nice expanding sabot and do the same thing... Makes me wonder why I have all my other inlines actually.
Sabotloader is really a great source of information on this board and his taking time, stopping by to help a new muzzleloader shooter does not surprise me at all. Now that a few more people have been hooked into the sport, I think they have an idea of how much fun this is. Now the hunt for a rifle will begin, and they at least have some hands on. Sounds like all of you had a good time. Nice going Sabotloader...

LOL on the Tri Cities wind. I try not to exagerate on the handicaps, but I think you are right. The last time we were shooting I was hoping to be able to sight in my 10/22. The wind was howling that day. It was aweful and I ended up leaving an unhappy camper.
I want to thank sabotloader again for taking the time to go out with us even though he had a busy schedule that day. Next time you make it over, hopefully we can spend some more time together. By the way, nice to hear you made it home alive after your purchase at Sportsman's!!! Did see your post about you doing honey do's though.
I just have to share this here. This is a picture of my son shooting a milk jug full of water. He got a new 12 ga Browning Gold for Christmas this year. Actually, a Christmas and B-day present.

In the winter time, fill them with water and then a little red food dye. Set them out and smack them with a good sized conical or fast sabot and you'd swear someone or something got butchers out in the snow... It is fun to shoot things other then paper. Sometimes I swear, I can shoot and hit a small end of a pop can a lot better then a 2" bull. Maybe I want it more..
