Heavy Conicals In 1-28" Twist Barrels
#2

That's a hard question to answer. All barrels are a mystery to themselves. What shoots good in one rifle might not shoot good in another. I've never shot the big .54 caliber conicals in a fast twist barrel as I do not own one. In the .50 caliber fast twist barrels, I have shot 460 & 533 grain conicals out of them. They both did real well, but you can not put large powder charges behind them.

How do heavy conicals shoot in a 1-28" twist GM 54cal Barrels? How do you think the 535gr No Excuses or Colorado conical would shoot?
You can go there and test available weights and see therecommended twist for that weight. I am of a mind to think that lighter weights are OK in faster twist barrels, they'll just be spinning faster than necessary and the twist won't be ideal.
