Ratio of 3f to equal 2f?
#1
I finally got my .45 Optima to start grouping well. I'm using the 200 gn .40 XTP in the brown sabot over 88 gns of Pyro P. Can anyone tell me what this equates to in a 2f powder charge?
I believe that this gun is rated for 150 (2f) grain loads, but want to be sure that this load is a safe one, as I'm using the finer granulation with presumably higher pressures.

that would be approximately 101 grains of 2f powder so you are more then safe. Usually the conversion from 2f and 3f is between 10-15% but you have to kind of take that with a grain of salt because not all powders are alike. In Triple Se7en for instance there is little increase in pressure is my understanding when changing from 2f to 3f.
If you figure 15% you are usually safe.
