Default RE: Best Powder Experiences with a .50 T/C Hawkin

Quite simple.

I hunt with the highest charge that still holds accuracy while also staying within the safe loading limit datafor the given rifle.

Why? Because since I only have one shot and it may be at the far end of my hunting range, I (not anyone else nor am I trying to change anyone's religion, but me) prefer to deliver the most lethal and still accurate shot I can. I don't like to leave any deliverable energy on the table.

Sure you can load a lesser less-recoiling charge and still be effective and for those that are recoil-sensitive then please do so. If I were recoil sensitive I would too. But I am not.

My hunting loads are developed with a locking shooting rest (HySkore Ultimate Sighting Rest with Remote is what I got last year, andI also usea Tite-Group Rest for up to 50BMG). So I don't have to endure a heavy recoil for the duration of load development. The shooting rest absorbs the recoil. I also wear a Magnum Past shooting Shield.

I target with a greatly reduced target load that is close to or exactlyPOI of my heavy hunting charge. So recoil fatigue is not an issue.

The HySkore Rest with remoteis an excellent gizmo to helpflush out the most accuratehunting and targeting loads without the shooter (me) adding a level of variability or having to have my shoulder turned to jellow.
