Default Pinnacle Vs. Shockey's Gold

I've noticed a different in recommendations by APP Shockey's Gold in stick form and Goex Pinnacle in thierEZ loads on how they recommend you should load these sticks. Pinnacle says to "pulverize" the powder in stick form, while APP says not to. From my understanding from reading threads on this site the two are pretty similar. Both being sugar based sub's.I thought the four sided stick was supposed to provide a faster ignition(Flame going up all four sides at once). I'm curious why one says to and the other does not. However I also understand to pulverize it would most likely be more consistant in the seating depth. Any one with any idea?

Default RE: Pinnacle Vs. Shockey's Gold

See my post here:

APP/Pinnacle/Shockey's Gold are all made by APP. It is Ascorbic Acid Based(Vitamin C) not sugar!

Tripp7 is SUGAR BASED and Carmelizes into the Crud Ring.

Finally, APP/Shockey sticks will work either way, crushed or solid. If it crushes easily with out deforming your bullet in the process, then go for it. Otherwise, like you stated-bullet seating depth and integrity will be the deciding factors. If you switch to loose powder-ONLY buy the 3Fg, it is the best they make.

Hope this helps
