Has anyone tried the MMP sabots with a 200 gr XTP in them,

The problem with that is the .400 diameter & shapeof the pistol bullet XTP. Precision bullets average .3985 inside that blue sabot.

The XTP will load easier in a rifle with a QLA (flare muzzle) system. But if you have a non-QLA, you may or may not hear yourself grunting while seating that XTP bullet.

i have used 451. 45 cal pistol bullets in 200 gr.xtp with a 100gr.of 777and when bullet placement is right on the money you have a dead critter. I have used this load in 3 different guns with very good performance,just don't try shooting through a few saplins before you hit the deer.

Unless you destroyed the box or lost the receipt, exchange the box of bullets for some .451 Speer Gold Dot HPs or .451 Hornady XTPs. Then buy a 50-pkof short,black Harvester plastic sabots in 45/50 for them. Less than 25 cents per shot.

Hang on to those blue sabots if you have any. Someone on another site is awaiting dies for 40-cal bullets in .399. Could be some for sale next spring.... I dunno just-yet!
