Default Success Finally!

Finally got out hunting. Due to work and schoolI was not able to even get out during our two week regular firearm.

Last weekend:
Thompson/Center SS Omega 50 cal Muzzleloader, Leupold VXIII2.5x8x36, Hornady 250gr SST, 95grains Black Mag'3, Remington Kleenbore primer. Zero: 3" high at 100 yards.

7-Point Saturday 12/03/05 at 0710 AM.
40-yards: heart shot through the right shoulder, complete pass-through. 10 yard run after the shot.

7" Spike Sunday 12/04/05 at 1650 hrs PM.
100 yards: heart shot behind the right shoulder, complete pass-through. Less than 10 yard run after the shot.

Now it's larger doe hunting for the rest of December.

I be in the woods another 14 days and I'll be carrying a different ML each dayshooting everything from PRB's, Conical's and Sabots from rifles and pistolsto include: 45,50,54 & 58 Caliber inlines, caplocks and flintlocks.

I love deer hunting and venison meat...and moreover just being afield with my ML's.

Congratulations Tahq on making some meat and having fun. I hunted hard the whole season, early season, modern season, and muzzleloading and never got a shot at anything. I guess that's why its called hunting and not shooting...

Now get out there and shoot a big doe. It would be a kick to do it with a flintlock... good luck for the rest of the season..

Thanks Cayugad!

Sorry to hear you have been skunked! Hang in there!

Actually, I have six doe tags to fill and will likely do so.

I counted 27 does on Saturday alone. Lots and lots of deer. I will also likely see a few really big racks that I will not be able to shoot because I've already used my two buck tags. But that's alright. I am ever thankfull.

Flintlock would be very ,verycool since this is my first year with one. Also a pistol will be fun, never hunted with BP pistol before either.

Taq, a diffrent ML each day for 14 days, my oh my how lucky you are. Hope you continue the success you're having. Taking a deer with a bp handgun would be quite the thrill. Let us know what happens.
