Pyrodex

RE: Pyrodex
I've tried both loose and pellets with 209 remington Kleenbore primers and the primers keep the barrel pretty clean as compared to the original remington primers. Pyrodex produces a good fowling but cleans up pretty easy. I havent' tried any other powders as I am satisified with the groupings in my 50 cal which can get 1" groups at 100 yds. I've heard 777 produces a crud ring and is more powerful than 777 but has less cleanup. Afterall they're muzzleloaders and require the work to get clean so I don't mind cleanup.

RE: Pyrodex
Other then the dirtiness of it... and it does fowl ... pyrodex is a very good powder. It shoots real consistant and had better then average moisture resistance ability. I shot it for years and liked it.. Then when I got into shooting almost every day I went back to Goex because of the cost and the consistancy of the powder in shot to shot.
