Wolverine (Knight) load?
I see alot of you have knight rifles. I have a wolverine with 22in barrel. Just wondering whatthe most accurate loads are for everyone?
I have found 2 new loads that I am going to use this season.First off, I have always used hornady xtp's 300gr and 90gr of pyro. This is my "old faithful". Then I shot some barnes expanders, these shot great with 90 to 100gr of 777.
The 2 new loads are 300gr sst with 90gr 777. Shot like a dream. I wouldestimate abour 1.5- 2 inch groups at 100yrds. Just curious what the bullet will do to game with the poly tip. I have the 250gr also but have not shot them yet. From reading the ballistics paper, the 300gr carry alot more energy downrange. I think I will stick with the 300gr for hunting and just shoot the 250 for fun.
Second and now new fav. load is 285 gr barnes semi spitzers with the yellow sabot.I used 80 to 110 grains of 777.Once again the 90gr of 777 shot best but the 100gr of 777 wasnt bad either.Great groups a little better that sst's (with 90gr 777)but for some reason, the kick is much more mild. The only issue I have with this bullet is the 1.00 a shot. OUCH
Thats why you cant beat the Hornady's!!!!
Iwill post mygroups the next time I shoot.

RE: Wolverine (Knight) load?
Wish I could help you as a knight wolvering, and disc owner, but those are my loads also for the most part.
I know 95gr of pyrodex works well with 240gr XTP and harvester sabot. The barnes expander with 100gr of pyrodex worked real good. So did two pyodex pellets.

I think you will be pleased with the performance of the SST/Shockwave on game. I have used both the 300 grain and 250 grain with good results. Many others on this board have had good things to say about these bullets. In fact; when you consideraccuracy, downrange ballistics, terminal ballistics, and price - these aresome ofthe best hunting bullets out there.
