bullet wieght question?
i was wonderin how much differents 20grns would have on point of impact. Was wonderin cause i have some T/C maxi-hunters that wieght in at 350grn and have some T/C maxi-balls that wieght in at 370. or would them bein two different bullet designs mean that they would have to be sighted in differently.

RE: bullet wieght question?
By all means, test-fire them! It has been my expperience that a heavier bullet will often high HIGHER on the target due to longer barrel time which permits the muzzle to rise more in recoil before the bullet exits the muzzle. This seems particularly true with rifles of large bore diameter......

You've gotta shoot the two. The heavier maxi ball will impact a little lower, or at least it should, but it will be close. Here's what I tell everybody: Find the best shooting set up, bullett, powder, and stick with it. Don't try to shoot two different bullets during the year. Bad idea. Stick with what shoots best and what makes u happiest. Good shooting, and happy hunting

RE: bullet wieght question?
When I was testing my loads for elk hunting, I tried the 320 and 370 grain T/C Maxi Balls and the 350 grain T/C Maxi Hunter. All of them were really close to each other for POI at 50 yards, but the Maxi Balls shot much better than the Maxi Hunters. I ended up going with the 370 grainer just because I wanted the extra weight rather than the little bit of velocity I could gain with the 320 grainer. I will probably shoot those over the course of the next year and just stick with the 370 grainer for everything, including deer and antelope.
To be sure, just check your rifle with each bullet. They should be real close to POI, but the accuracy may sufferwith one bullet over the other. Good luck!!
