Default Sabots vs bullet diameters for easy loading ???

I keep seeing questions regarding sabot/bullet combinationsthat are hard to load inT/C ML's and a few others. How do you determine the size of sabot needed to fit the bullet if you don't want use the sabot that comes with the bullet? Is there any kind of a standardway to determine the sizeor is it merelytrial and error?

For instant, I tried the 250gr T/C Shockwaves and they load tight. If I was to use a different sabot such as the MMP or Harvester brand, how would I determine which size to use? What about otherbullet weights such as200gr, 300gr, etc?
